India Rejects Pakistan’s "Baseless" Allegations on Islamabad Mosque Bombing

New Delhi | February 7, 2026 — India has categorically rejected and "trashed" allegations made by Pakistan linking New Delhi to a tragic suicide bombing at a Shia mosque in Islamabad. The blast, which occurred during Friday prayers in the Tarlai area, claimed at least 31 lives and left over 160 injured.

MEA’s Sharp Rebuttal

In a strongly worded statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India termed the accusations "pointless" and "unfortunate."

"It is unfortunate that, instead of seriously addressing the problems plaguing its social fabric, Pakistan chose to delude itself by blaming others for its home-grown ills," the MEA spokesperson said.

The "Blame Game" Context

The rejection comes after Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif alleged a "collusion between India and Afghanistan" without providing evidence. Indian officials have reiterated that such "reflexive finger-pointing" is a tactic to divert international attention from Pakistan’s internal security failures and its continued support for terror proxies.
